How does it work

Services at your home (e.g. dog walking, pet feeding, house sitting)

We will visit your home to meet you and your pet(s) and to agree your exact requirements. From this we will be able to work out a quotation which we will send to you by email or by letter.

Keys

When not in use keys will be kept locked away, and will only be identified with a number rather than a name or address. They can be returned at the end of an assignment, or at the customer's request held securely in case we are required to visit your pet at short notice.

Booking Pet Sitting

We are happy to take provisional verbal or e mail bookings, but these must be followed by a payment for 20% of the quotation value within one week of the booking being made, our no later than one week before the service is required (which ever is the sooner) or the booking will lapse.

Cancellations

A full refund of the booking fee will be made for cancellations made over 2 weeks before the booking start date. 50% of the booking fee will be refunded between 2 weeks and 1 week of the booking start date.

The deposit will not be refunded if the booking is cancelled less than 1 week before the booking start date.

This reflects our ability to replace that booking within the given time frame.

What you can expect from us

We will follow your instructions to  ensure your pet has a happy and safe visit by or with us. However, we cannot be held responsible for any issues occurring outside our control.

We will inform you straight away if we have any reservations about your pet whilst they are with us and will take your instructions and advice. If we are unable to contact you, or a person you have nominated, we will arrange a visit to the vet if it is considered to be in the best interest of your pet. These costs will be between you and the veterinary practice.  If it is necessary to take your pet to the vet whilst in our care, our time, costs fees associated with this service will be refunded by you on your return..

For home visits, we will leave your home as we find it, and will take all reasonable care with your property. We will only enter areas which are relevant to providing the services you have instructed us to provide.

What we expect from you

You will advise us of any of your pet's medical or behavioural issues which may affect the service we provide to you. This includes illness, aggressive behaviour, incontinence, excessive barking, bitches due to come into season etc.

You will supply enough food for the entire holiday booking, or will agree to reimburse us on production of a relevant receipt if this is not the case.

Regular customers will be invoiced as agreed, for all other customers the balance of payment will be due upon completion of the services provided.

Dog Walking

Our approach to dog walking is to make use of the many areas found locally to either the client or in the many parks within the East Dunbartonshire area. Wherever the area is we will ensure that our dog walking delivers your pet real benefits through a stimulating and enjoyable experience, within a safe environment.

Your dog can be walked on or off lead from your home or at the agreed location, either solo or with company.

Older dogs and puppies will be given exercise at a pace more suitable to their ability.

Whatever the weather, we are committed to exercising your pet and once the walk is completed we will ensure that your pet is returned to you towel dried and ready to be welcomed back into the home

Pet Visits Services

Our pet visits offer you units of time during the day to visit your dog(s) at their home. During the visit we will walk your dog or puppy, play, and if required help with ongoing training, toileting breaks, etc., along with, of course, lots of care and attention.

We will ensure that they are fed and watered as per your instructions. They will be let out for a toilet break if they are kept indoors, or clean out the litter tray or bedding area if appropriate.

In most cases we are able to administer your pets medicines if required, and will also provide a log for medicines administered.

Small Pets

Canine Walks also has valuable experience in caring for small and exotic pets and are therefore happy to provide home visits for these unique pets too.

Other pets can be considered and prices agreed according to their requirements

Key Holder services

Regular clients can benefit from our key holder service. Keys are kept locked away within a safe area and are coded so that the name and address do not appear on the fob. This would suit people who travel often or find themselves regularly being kept late at work. It is also ideal for that unexpected trip away.  We will also be on call if you are looked out
